This is the start of the website for the Buffalo/WNY chapter of the
NY Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement (NYCAIC).
The purpose of the campaign is to end the abusive, tortuous use of solitary confinement in our state.
Solitary confinement as practiced in New York State is brutal, overused, and counter-productive.
Learn why by reading the documents below (especially the first one listed).
Then join in the campaign to curtail solitary by passing the HALT Solitary Confinement bill.
Chapter meetings: 3rd Sunday of most months, at 2pm
Location: St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 15 Fernhill Ave, Buffalo (just east of Grider, opposite ECMC parking lots)
Chapter coordinator: Rebekah Kimble kimble@wnycaic.org
